From bank alert to budget

Sign in and pick the banks you use. From then on, the purchase alerts those banks send you come to EveryDolla too: only those alerts, only from your banks. Each one shows up as a purchase with its merchant, amount and card, filed under a category and taken off that category’s budget.

Your own rules come first. Correct a category once and save it, and the next purchase from that merchant follows your choice. AI helps with merchants it hasn’t seen before.

Made for how Jamaicans bank

The big budgeting apps link to banks through services built for the United States, Canada, the UK and Europe. YNAB and Monarch don’t connect to any Jamaican bank, and we couldn’t confirm that Wallet connects to one. EveryDolla works from the purchase alerts NCB, Scotiabank and First Global already send you, which is how it follows your Jamaican cards.

Every total is in Jamaican dollars. A Netflix charge or an Amazon order in US dollars is converted to J$ and counted, and the purchase keeps its US$ amount so you can match it to your statement. There is no currency switch to manage.

Check your bank alerts before you connect

Connect the Gmail or Outlook account that receives your transaction alerts. Coverage depends on the bank and the alert format. Follow the setup guide for your bank:

Missing an alert? Upload a statement or receipt through eVe, or add the purchase yourself. Check the amounts and categories before relying on your spending totals.

What you can do with it

  • See what you spent this month by category and by card, across banks.
  • Set a budget for each category and see what’s left as purchases come in.
  • Plan for bills and savings goals alongside your everyday spending.
  • Add cash purchases yourself.
  • Ask eVe, the assistant in the app, about your spending, or give her a bank statement or a receipt and she adds the purchases on it.

It works on Android, iPhone and the web, with the same account.

What it can and can’t touch

EveryDolla gets the purchase alerts from the banks you pick, and nothing else. It can’t move money, and it never asks for your online banking password or your full card number. You can stop the alerts coming in at any time in the app. Our privacy policy has the details, and how we make money explains why it’s free.

How it compares

YNAB, Monarch and Wallet are popular budgeting apps, but purchases on a Jamaican card don’t come into them on their own. We put them side by side in the best budgeting apps in Jamaica.

Questions

Is there a budgeting app that works with Jamaican banks?

EveryDolla works with NCB, Scotiabank and First Global Bank. Once you sign in, the purchase alerts those banks already send you come to EveryDolla too, so each card purchase shows up in your budget without you typing it in. You'll see the current list of banks when you set it up.

Do I have to give EveryDolla my online banking password?

No. EveryDolla gets the purchase alerts your bank already sends you, and nothing from your online banking. It never asks for your banking password and it can't move money.

What about purchases in US dollars?

They are converted to J$ and counted in your totals. EveryDolla uses the J$ amount your bank billed, or that day's exchange rate when the bank didn't say. The purchase still shows its US$ amount.

Can I add purchases that don't come with an alert?

Yes. Add cash purchases yourself, or give eVe, the assistant in the app, a bank statement or a receipt and she adds the purchases on it.

Is EveryDolla free?

Yes. Tracking is free on the web, iPhone and Android, and signing up needs no payment card. EveryDolla Plus is optional and sold on the web only. Its price and what it includes are shown before you pay.

Does EveryDolla sell my data?

No. We don't sell your personal information, and we never use your financial information for advertising.
