Turn on First Global Bank alerts
FGB's credit card page lists Email transaction alerts for its Visa Classic, Gold, Platinum and business cards, with no instructions. Its Visa Debit page doesn't mention alerts, although the debit card alerts we know of look like the sample below. With no published steps, the way in is to ask.
Who to ask
- Call FGB on 888-CALL-FGB (225-5342) or write to fgb@gkco.com.
- Ask for email transaction alerts to be switched on for each card you use, debit and credit.
- Ask which email address FGB holds for you, and change it if it's out of date.
What a First Global Bank alert says
FGB packs most of what you need into one sentence. Here is the sample above, a credit card purchase in US dollars.
- StatusApprovedA turned-down purchase uses the same sentence with Declined, and a reversal with Reversed.
- Amount29.99 USDThe number comes first and the currency code after it.
- Authorisation numberA1B2C3FGB's code for the approval. Quote it if you call FGB about the charge.
- CardFGB Credit Card ****5678Whether it is a debit or credit card, and its last digits.
- MerchantSAMPLE SOFTWAREThe merchant, written after the word at.
- Date and time03-Sep-2026 9:05 AMDay, month in three letters, year, then the time.
- Available balance150,000.00 JMDOn the credit card alert we sampled. The debit card alerts we know of leave it out.
The other alerts First Global Bank sends
- A debit card purchase arrives under the subject FGB Debit Card Transaction Alert, in the same wording, with a card number such as ****1234.
- A purchase FGB turns down arrives with Declined in the first sentence.
- The same sender also sends service notices, such as a note about scheduled maintenance. Those aren't purchases.
When First Global Bank alerts stop arriving
Work down this list and stop when alerts come back.
- Ask FGB which email address your card alerts go to. With no published way to change it yourself, the bank is the one to fix it.
- Check that each card has alerts on. A credit card and a debit card are set up separately, and FGB lists email alerts as a credit card feature.
- Look in your junk or spam folder, then add fgbcuscare@gkco.com to your contacts.
- FGB's monthly e-statement notice goes to the email on record too, so if you don't get that either, the address on record is the likely cause.
- EveryDolla gets your alerts through the Gmail or Outlook account you connect. If the email address First Global Bank holds for you is a different one, the alerts go to that inbox and none show up in EveryDolla.
An alert you don’t recognise
Call FGB on 888-CALL-FGB (225-5342). FGB says you can block and unblock credit and debit cards in Global Access, its online banking.
An alert that looks right can still be fake, because anyone can copy a sender’s name and address. If an alert asks you to click a link or share a code, open First Global Bank’s app or call the number on its website instead.
Use your First Global Bank alerts in EveryDolla
Sign in to EveryDolla and pick First Global Bank. From then on, the transaction alerts First Global Bank already sends you come to EveryDolla too, only those alerts. Each purchase shows up with its merchant, amount and card, sorted into a category and added up in J$.
A purchase in US dollars keeps its US$ amount and counts toward your total in J$. Declines, reversals, card payments and transfers aren’t counted as spending. EveryDolla never asks for your First Global Bank online banking password and it can’t move money. The budgeting app page shows how the pieces fit.
Some purchases never send an alert. For those, you can import a First Global Bank statement instead.
