JN Bank transaction alerts and how to read them.

A JN Bank card alert is a single sentence: the merchant, the card, the date and time and the amount. How you get one depends on the card. Debit card alerts go to the mobile number and email JN has on file, and credit card alerts are set up inside JN LIVE.

Transaction Notification

Approved POS purchase at SAMPLE MART KINGSTON with debit card ending 1234 on 12 Sep 2026 03:45 PM for JMD 2,500.00.

Thank you for banking with JN Bank.

A made-up JN Bank alert, set out the way JN Bank sends them. The merchant, the amounts and the card digits are invented.

Turn on JN Bank alerts

JN publishes a different route for each kind of card. The debit card step is on its Visa Debit page. The credit card steps are in a JN LIVE guide published on 16 April 2021 and updated on 10 May 2022.

Debit card

  1. Open the ONE JN Passport app, visit a JN Bank branch, or call the JN Member Care Centre on 888-991-4065 or 888-991-4066.
  2. Update your personal mobile number and your personal email address.
  3. Do it before you collect a new card. JN says that without an email address or phone number you won't be told when your card is used.

Credit card, in JN LIVE

  1. Sign in to JN LIVE, choose Customer Service, then Alerts setup.
  2. Pick an alert type. You set one type at a time.
  3. Pick the credit card account, then the card number, which JN shows in part.
  4. Choose Setup New, or Edit if you already have an alert.
  5. Set the Daily, Weekly or Monthly limit and the transaction amount. JN says an amount has to be entered.
  6. Check your choices and confirm.

What a JN Bank alert says

JN puts everything in one sentence, always in the same order. Here is the sample above, piece by piece.

  • TypeApproved POS purchasePOS means the card was used at a till. An online purchase says E-Commerce instead.
  • MerchantSAMPLE MART KINGSTONThe merchant, written after the word at.
  • Carddebit card ending 1234Whether it is a debit or credit card, and its last digits.
  • Date and time12 Sep 2026 03:45 PMDay, month in three letters, year, then the time.
  • AmountJMD 2,500.00The currency code comes before the amount. A US-dollar purchase says USD.
  • BalanceNot includedThe purchase alert doesn't state your balance.

The other alerts JN Bank sends

  • A purchase JN turns down arrives as Declined POS purchase in the same wording, and a reversal as Reversed POS purchase.
  • An online purchase arrives as Approved E-Commerce purchase.
  • JN's alerts article lists seven kinds of alert, including account access, password changes, transactions online, at a till and at ATMs, declined transactions, payment reminders and statement availability.
  • The same sender also sends notices such as Your e-statement is ready. They have no purchase in them.

When JN Bank alerts stop arriving

Work down this list and stop when alerts come back.

  • Check that JN has your current mobile number and email address. JN says that if you change your number without telling the bank, you stop receiving text alerts. Update both the same way you first set them.
  • For a credit card, check JN LIVE under Customer Service and Alerts setup. Alerts there are set per card, and an alert that was never set up won't send.
  • Look in your junk or spam folder, then add paymentsnotification@jngroup.com to your contacts.
  • If you collected your card before giving JN your email address, add it now. JN's Visa Debit page says without one you won't be told when the card is used.
  • EveryDolla gets your alerts through the Gmail or Outlook account you connect. If the email address JN Bank holds for you is a different one, the alerts go to that inbox and none show up in EveryDolla.

An alert you don’t recognise

Call the JN Member Care Centre on 888-991-4065 or 888-991-4066. JN lists those lines for reporting unauthorised transactions at any hour, including holidays and weekends.

An alert that looks right can still be fake, because anyone can copy a sender’s name and address. If an alert asks you to click a link or share a code, open JN Bank’s app or call the number on its website instead.

Use your JN Bank alerts in EveryDolla

Sign in to EveryDolla and pick JN Bank. From then on, the transaction alerts JN Bank already sends you come to EveryDolla too, only those alerts. Each purchase shows up with its merchant, amount and card, sorted into a category and added up in J$.

A purchase in US dollars keeps its US$ amount and counts toward your total in J$. Declines, reversals, card payments and transfers aren’t counted as spending. EveryDolla never asks for your JN Bank online banking password and it can’t move money. The budgeting app page shows how the pieces fit.

Some purchases never send an alert. For those, you can import a JN Bank statement instead.
